Jackie C. Thomas, Jr.
Jackie Thomas

Is the CEO and Founder of the Foundation for Student Leadership and Success, Jackie is committed to educating, encouraging, and empowering today’s youth and young adults.

The Foundation for Student Leadership and Success is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that’s mission is to develop mature, college-ready student leaders that will make a positive impact in their respective communities. The foundation hosts the BLACK Student Summit, which is in it’s 3rd of existence.

Lastly, Jackie is 2nd year Ph.D. student in the Educational Psychology and Individual Differences Program at the University of Houston. He received his Bachelors of Science in Consumer Science and Merchandising from the University of Houston and his Masters of Science in Higher Education from Florida State University.

Dr. Delonia Cooley

Dr. Cooley is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Texas Southern University. She has the opportunity to touch the lives of many different people that matriculate through TSU. She teaches Principles of Marketing, Retailing, and Advertising/IMC courses to undergraduate and graduate students. She is also the advisor to the American Marketing Association.

Delonia has published her research in several different types of formats ranging from academic journals to academic international conferences. She received a Bachelor’s of Science, Master’s of Health Care Administration, and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. While in college she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and hel several key positions in the organization. She received her Doctorate of Philosophy in 2006 from the University of Memphis.

A native of Hope, AR, Delonia is the wife of Cornelius Cooley and the proud mother of 3 children.

Porscha Jackson
Porscha Jackson Porscha Jackson is the Director of Communications and External Relations for the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University (TSU).  Porscha is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Omaha and TSU.  She is a diamond-life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 
Controller Ronald Green
Ronald Green

Ronald C. Green, a native Houstonian and active community partner was elected as Houston City Controller, on December 12, 2009. Controller Green has earned a reputation for common sense fiscal policies, making him the first African American to hold this position in the history of the city.

Green earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston, as well as a law degree from Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Green is a founding partner of his own law firm and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., 100 Black Men of America, Inc., UH Alumni Organization, Thurgood Marshall School of Law Alumni Association. He is married to Judge Hilary Harmon Green, Justice of the Peace, Harris County Precinct Seven, Place 1. They have a son and are active in their community and Windsor Village United Methodist Church.

Dawona Miller
Dawona Miller Dawona Miller is a graduate from the University of Houston and obtained a B. A. in Business. She is an active member of the Bay Area Houston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Ms. Miller is an employee of Continental Airlines and a member of the Continental Management Association. While pursuing her education at the University of Houston she served as the Student Body President for two consecutive terms while also being selected to the Homecoming Court where she took home the crown of Miss University of Houston. With this achievement she was the second African American to wear this prestigious crown and the only individual to wear the crown and hold the office of Student Body President simultaneously.
